Is it possible to copy a file onto a hard drive without changing its “date created”?

Hi! I need to backup all my files so I can format my computer, but when I copy files onto my hard drive the ‘date created’ changes to the day I copied. Is there a way to copy the file EXACTLY like the original?

You CAN do it by changing the date of your computer clock to that shown as ‘Date Created’ on the file, but if you are copying all your files you would have to do each one separately!!!!!

You may be better to show Date Modified in Windows Explorer instead of Date Created as this does keep the existing date (right click the bar above the file list and select as required).
